People I Come From

Look at those pictures on the wall

Of all those used to be babies

Where have the years all gone

We've scattered like seeds

Tossed into the wind

And now we have some babies of our own

It's been a lot of years

And many miles have I wandered

From these dusty backroads of my youth

And now it all comes back to me

Like I'm seeing some old movie

Being with these people I come from

I followed my star

Lord I heeded my calling

It took me away so long

But not so far that I

Ever could forget

This place my heart calls home

            There's something in the way

            They say my name

That makes me feel so strong

And how it all comes back to me

Like I'm seeing some old movie

Being with these people I come from

And if I could do it all again

I would not change a thing

                        We're flowers that sprang

                        To life from the same

                        Garden in the rain

(Repeat lst verse and chorus)
