Jody's World

Jody lives in another world

That's just out of sight

She can't believe so many years

Has so much time gone by

Although she married young

And has children of her own

Still sometimes, every now and then

She'll hear some old song

And she's gone to Jody's World

            Where her spirit soars

Where in her heart and in her mind

            She's still a little girl

Jody lives in her own world

She keeps it all inside

A secret place where she can run to

When she needs to hide

All day she carries on and nobody knows

Or hears her silent tears

For the book she never wrote

And she's gone to Jody's World

            Where her spirit soars

Where in her heart and in her mind

            She's still a little girl

Dreams die hard like fallen snow

They cling to their right to shine

But they're not really gone so far

They're only sleeping in your mind

I wanna live in Jody's World

I wanna come inside

I'm gonna hold her when she hurts

And kiss her when she cries

We'll watch the world roll by

And we'll stay safe and warm

Wrapped up in each other's love

We're forever young
