Stand By The Road

Now sugar don't worry

I'll be all right

I just should have never had bourbon tonight

Weirds me out and then it leaves me alone

Takes my money but it won't take me home

So I'm down by the roadway

Don't worry about me

That road is an angel to me

I think of it winding by that old town of mine

It doesn't seem so far away

I think of me riding it away at some time

It makes it easier to stay

So let me stand by the road I ain't leaving

I'm just seeing an old friend of mine

Well it's my own way

When I'm feeling down

I sit by the roadway on the far end of town

I feel better just watching them roll

I'm gonna make it just as long as I know

The line is open

Should I decide

To be on my way and just ride

I think of it winding by that old town of mine

It doesn't seem so far away

I think of me riding it away at some time

It makes it easier to stay

So let me stand by the road I ain't leaving

I'm just seeing an old friend of mine
