Down On The Corner

Well the nighttime's falling

And I move real slow

‘Cause there ain't nowhere

That I need to go

But down on the corner

We stumble on down

From parts unknown

We stand together

And stand alone

Down on the corner

Way downtown

            And the traffic passes

            And the horns all blow

And the people all stare at the lonely show

Some got bourbon, and some got wine

And I could have someone

But who's got the time

Down on the corner

So we talk about any old thing

Somebody answers

When the payphone rings

Down on the corner

Way downtown

And we see the couples as they come and go

            And remember the ones

            That we used to know

I was standing here thinking how time sure flies

I remember when that girl and I

Rode around looking at the lonely guys all down

                        On the corner

Now the nighttime's over

And I move real slow

‘Cause there ain't nowhere that I need to go
